North Port Apartments Renovation

The Michigan State Housing Development Authority has approved a $19 million loan to renovate North Port Apartments in Port Huron. The 249-unit complex will get updates to aging structures, including new roofs, flooring, HVAC, plumbing, and ADA improvements. The project will reserve units for low-income residents, with some set aside for those earning between 40% and 80% of the area’s median income. Port Huron officials are backing the renovation to address the city’s housing shortage, with the project also creating 24 temporary jobs in the area.
