Man Pleads No Contest in Church Attack

In Marysville, 33-year-old Robert Beaton pleaded no contest to attacking Father James Arwady and damaging St. Christopher Catholic Church during a baptism in May. Beaton allegedly threw a rock through a church window and injured the priest while shouting anti-Catholic remarks, leading to his arrest. He faces sentencing on September 8 for ethnic intimidation, assault, and property damage, with two minor charges dismissed. The church, relieved Father Arwady is recovering, requested the community to pray for both him and Beaton.
